Be careful: The 305/70/16 AT's are only a 6 ply (load C) tire, as is the 315/75/16 AT's. The MT 305/70/16 is an 8 ply (load D) but the 315/75/16 MT is still only 6 ply.

It doesn't seem like a bad deal, but I would be leary of putting any of these tires, except the 305/70/16 MT, on a CTD.

Just checked out that web site and look at the price on those pro comp tires they want almost $200 for the 33x12. 50x16. 5s that's a pretty steep price. You can get the same size BFG MT for $155. Just thought I'ld say something.

Big D

I just looked at that link given and it shows the 305 AT as being available as a 6 ply only, just like the 4 wheel parts site listed it.

Right! 6 ply load D. How did they get away with rating a 6 ply tire with a D load rating?

I can't imagine a 6 ply, even if load D, will hold up well under the stress the Cummins can put on the truck.

Maybe if the truck was empty 99% of the time and didn't tow, a 6 ply would be ok.

I had jumped on this deal last time it came around, I got the 305 X 70 X 16's, Mud Terrains. The only thing nice about these tires are their looks when you first get them. These tires are not weaing very well on my truck. the weird thing is, is that they are wearing badly on the rear, not the front ..... And I mostly run empty. I can't comment on the All-Terrains, but I would stay away from the Mud-Terrains. just my 2 cents.

Ditto Rattlebox

I'm seeing the same thing with the A/T's - I bought the wheel/tire combo from 4-wheel parts. They look good, and even perform OK off-road, but the rears are wearing horribly - I think I'll be lucky to get 35K miles on 'em, let alone the 50K that the A/T's are warranteed for.

I did tow an 8000lb trailer + at least 1000lbs of cargo about 1500 miles after I bought them - seemed to perform fine.

You gotta remember the bigger the tire the less stress on it. (more surface area) That is how they can get away with 6 ply and a load D rating. Same way you can carry the same weight with less pressure and bigger tires.

I have the 305/70-16 AT's. I really like them. They are wearing pretty good. Certainly as good as the BFG AT's I have had in the past. My one problem is I have neglected to rotate them and the fronts are cupping. I may go back to BFG AT's (285/75-16) on the next set. I really like the new BFG's. The 305's are a little tall for 3. 54 gearing and an auto. Traction is very good, mine are load range "D". I believe 2910 lbs. per tire.
