Competition Guages (and location) for racing

Competition Jesup GA, Pull pics

I've been running the stock Michelins since my truck was new 40,000 miles ago. It is about time for a new set. With my mods I am currently running in the low 13's. I hope to break into the 12's with my new input shafts (able to launch at higher boost).

I would like to go to larger tires, 285's to 305's. The big question is what will the larger tires do to my ET's? At 10 to 12 lbs. of boost I get little or no tire spin, but I hope to be launching at 20+ lbs. Will I have a problem with wheel spin then?

Any help is appreciated.

P. S. Will all-terrains (nitto's) hold up racing?

Dieselrod,

You probably won't spin more but if you are currently running 265's and go to a 285 your tire will be an inch taller and will probably hurt your 60' times, therefore hurting your et's at the track. I'm going back to 265's from 285's for that very reason. Maybe someone can tell the net effect in time if any.

By the way I launch in 4wd at 20 to 24 lbs of boost and I really don't spin unless the track is hot. It sure is a fun ride!

Don't know about the Nitto's, I run Bridgestone Dualer A/T Revo's and love them.
