I recently purchased a TITAN TANK from a TDR member and was very impressed with the quick shipping. Last night I was looking it over and inspecting it for any problems I might find. Luckily I only found a few items of concern. There is alot of dust inside the tank from sitting for approx two months before i bought it. The vent bung next to the filler neck is broken off. I would like to know if any of you guys out there know what is the best thing to remove the dust from the inside of the tank besides just using a rag. Is the vent bung next to the filler next all that hard to remove and can i use brass instead of black plastic in its place? Another thing is I am missing only one of the allen head screws and a lock washer. Does anyone know what size this is? What about the metal plate on top of where the screws are at? Does this take the place of the rubber gasket? Also going into the rear vent there is a threaded black piece going into the connector. Do i need to use teflon tape on this connector or what? Any and all info would be of great help as i would like to install this tank within one week.

Well Dan I know how you feel with 71 views & no response! But I am 57 yrs old been around trucks & mechanical things all my life & I had to do a Google search to see what a TITAN TANK even was!

Your public profile shows joining April 10 2006, I misread that to be 3 days ago instead of 1 year & 3 days!!:{ Sorry that WAS MY FAULT!

Sorry I can't help you on your orginal question. I'm sure someone will come along soon with some advice. :D

Titan tanks are a little hard to install. Do a search and you'll find a lot about mine. :)

  1. Home Depot has the replacement vent hose-barb you need. It's nylon.
  2. Clean the tank with a few ounces of diesel in a pump sprayer, then drain it.
  3. The metal plate has a gasket underneath, use it.
  4. Take one of the allen-heads to a HW store for replacement.

I'll help you with the install if you need it. Just ask.

gasket

what are you talking about for the gasket? Is it supposed to be where the groove is at which is about 1/4 of an inch deep and about 4 inches or so in circumference? I do not see one.
