My thoughts for the 7. 5 are more for the depth than weight.

Since I have just two lots to do I would rather not go out during the night or on my day off if I don't have to. That would mean taking on a deeper job that is currently done with a loader.

The larger lot narrows on one end and many times cars are parked in it so a more narrow blade just seemed like a better choice. I will take a look at the wider ones.

You should be able to move 18" of snow easily. If it is of the heavy wet variety, make sure your in 4lo. I have had a Boss 8' superduty on my truck since new and was on the 04 from new also. It was the most economical choice for me. I would have rather had the V but, I got a great deal at year end on the straight. The V allows for much easier clean up with small snow falls and the ability to break into driveways when they are drifted.

So far I like the Boss V in the 7. 6

Its just 700 lbs and has a 30" height. Central Parts Warehouse has them for 500 more than a straight blade.

I've had a plow on my '03 for 3 winters now. I don't do any plowing for hire, just my large driveway and a nieghbors place.

I went with a 7 1/2' Western Midweight Steel. It's the only plow that Western recommends for a Dodge truck with a Cummins. It has the Ulta-Mount attachment system, so it's a breeze to take off or put on.

I have not had any problems with the truck or the plow yet. My truck had 100,000 miles on it when the plow was installed. I do keep an eye on the trans temp guage, it'll climb to 220 if I'm not carefull (this is after I installed tire chains, no more tire spin). No ball joint issues yet either.

This thing is a snow plowing beast! The only thing I wish it had is some side wings to form a scoop. They are available for the next size up plow.
