No they don't. I rotate all 7 without re-mounting. If you read the Owners Guide, it doesn't say anything about re-mounting. It just say to rotate every so many miles. I don't rotate as often as it recommends. There's a chart for 6 or 7 rotation pattern.

this is how the jokers at discount tires do it on mine:

BGlidewell,

You and I have the same truck. There's a chart in the Owners Guide, which I'll bring to my copier and scan. If I remember correctly, the two rear inside duallies are swaped with the front wheels. The two outside duallies are swaped with each other. Then you take the spare and place it anywhere you want as long as you make a note of it so the you don't swap it with the same wheel on the next rotation. I keep a maintainance log and make a sketch of where each tire is relocated. I do follow the recommendation in the book, except for frequency of rotation. The only time my wheels have been broke down is to fix a flat, which I take to Discount Tire. They don't charge me to fix flats.

Mr. Grizzly, are you referring to this?

Who in his right mind would have a different brand spare. That is not hip! That is like toeing a big tri-axle toy hauler with a SRW truck. :-laf

Well, I suppose that's a fair question but who in his right mind would buy a new matching spare at $250/tire when his original now misfit spare has never been on the ground and the owner doesn't plan for it to be?

I didn't even carry a spare on my '08 C&C for the first two years I owned it. I had a zero miles mounted General tire and wheel in my barn I kept when I sold the '06 so finally mounted it on the flatbed. The tire is almost six years old and still has never been on the ground.

Money is a little short for the next few weeks.

I had new Silent Armor Wranglers mounted to the front today and will buy four for the rear when I get back from hunting next month.

Going to get rid of the Tireman valves for now and replace them steel valves and try the standard rotation for this next set of tires.

This is the Tireman valve system Tire-Man: Kit #3-6D

No need to call me Mr. , Mr. My real name is george.

That's the chart. After I rotate the six tires I add the spare to a different location, which i keep track of on my log book. The Owners Guide says to rotate the tires each 7. 5K miles. I do it about every 15K.

Rotation

Had my Mich. LTX2 rotated yesterday at Costco after 12k miles. The 4 rears are worn more than the 2 fronts. Also I now have a vibration. Poor balance job.
Will go back to have it redone tomorrow.
I do not think that the LTX2's are going to wear as good as my previous LTX tires.
They went 56k and could have gone another 5k easily.
Getting the truck ready for another Arizona trip.

All my valve stems point to the dished outward side of the wheel, which is the way my truck came from the factory. My 95 was the same way. I don't use valve extenders. I have a double sided long stem truckers tire gauge and air chuck. With the wheel skins on, I can reach both valve stems on the duallies. It's not easy, but I can do it.

While traveling I check all my tires, including the 5er tires with my trusty Fluke infrared thermometer gun every time we stop for a "p" or whatever break. If I get an unusual high reading, I know that tire is low.

Works for me.

same here on both pints but my IR gun is another brand I got from Grainger.

Yes, its true. The Michelins all have OWL. I prefer blackwalls and my tire buddies dismount and remount two everytime they rotate for me to keep them black.

Nice, what did you do for 6 weeks?

Do you rotate 6 or 7 wheels on your dually? Do you have to re-mount any wheels? Just taking a little survey.

I do a six tire rotation...

ORR to RF

IRR to ORR

RF to ILR

ILR to OLR

OLR to LF

I squeezed 67K out of the generals doing this and have rotated with this pattern for over 11 years with two dually's.

Using the ORR to OLR really grinds em down to about half their life. My work buddies have done this by not taking my advice.

I spent most of the summer in Wa St with friends and family, riding the KTM supermoto in some beautiful areas, crabbing, hiking, mountain biking etc.

I drove the 05 empty this year straight thru 20 hours without shutting it down.

Thanks Mac. Food for thought on the rotation.

Sounds like you had a great 6 weeks off.
