I looked at that link and your right, it is kinda complicated. Not like the olds days of static mech. timing. This is what has me wondering. There is no way to say this without sounding disrespectful (which is not my intent) but how much does the aftermarket know about what they are doing with the these newer engines? If you just change the timing curve, other things may be adversely effected that could harm the engine; cylinder temps/pressure spikes, high smoke leading to sooted oil, etc. How are we to know? I know a lot of their info is proprietary but it's be nice for someone to step and tell us what they are doing and why. They wouldn't have to give specifics but generalities. Bob and Marco's reputation preceeds them and it is well deserved, but I wonder what information they us to determine the Smarty's software.
