Top speed for 1990 with 5sp and 4.10s

I just bought a 1990 with a 5 speed and what I believe are 4. 10 gears. I have a new speed sensor ordered to fix the speedo but can anyone tell me off hand what the top speed is?

Have you looked at the transmission? The reason I ask is I belive on the 90 model the speedometer was cable driven. There is a sensor but it should only feed the cruise control system if your truck was equipped with it.

89 last year for mechanical driven speedo. 90's have the electric speedo.

I'm not sure if it runs anywhere close to 90 at least it doesn't feel like your going that fast. I guess I'll find out when I get the speedo working.

An all stock truck, 4. 10 geared, w/5spd, they top out at about 84mph. This is the srw trucks w/235x85R16 tires. The duallys w/215x85R16 tires top out at about 80mph.

I just ran it with the GPS and the top speed is 75 MPH . Well at least I don't have to worry about speeding on the interstate.

I forgot to say it pulls hard until 72 then it falls off and creeps up to about 75. Also does anyone think something is wrong?

My 92 with a NV4500 (advance adapter kit) tops out under 70, it sounds about the same g360 5th is a bit higher than the NV4500 5th

Sounds like it is hitting the injector pump governor, if it is then that would be considered normal.

I figuered I was hitting the goverenor, but some others listed top speeds that were considerably higher and that was what had me concerned.

check your throtle adj and take a few turns on the high idle screw. . and you should be able to do 85 or better. . Mine will do over 90. . no problem... I have 33" tires at 90 I am turning about 2800 rpm...

I bought a 89 12-11-1988 5 sp 3. 55,s it went 87 mph at 2500 rpm. I have a 90 5 sp 3. 55,s it goes 87 at 2500 rpm . I would think that a 4. 10 would be 75 or so. I think my 3. 55,s did uper60,s in direct.

After I adjusted the goverenor screw and "adjusted" the go pedal I can go 90 on the speedo and 85 on the GPS
