My torque converter is cycling in and out at all steady speeds, and sometimes during accelleration. I have cleaned all battery terminals, and added a ground from each battery to the body. It always comes back. I can disconnect the battery cables (hour or so), hook back up, and it cures it for a while. I have tries the TPS reset too (key forward slow, push accellerator to floor, let off then turn key off). That has been a temporary fix too. I broke down and ordered the DTT noise filter, but it hasn't come in yet. Any other suggestions? Mine is worse than most described here. Thanks.

The noise filter should do it.

Me three - DTT filter did the trick. However, you may wish to try the trick in this months TDR Issue. Mentions wrapping the the ground to alternator cable with aluminum foil and tape to kill electric noise. Can't hurt and it's cheap if it works fine if not nothing lost . . .

Could be an APPS going bad. Slowly depress the throttle (while in park) and watch/listen that the rpms come up smoothly. If the APPS is getting tired you'll probably get some hesitation/jumps in rpm about 1700-1900 (where the pedal spends most of its time and the APPS wears the most). The fluctuating voltage from the APPS will also cause the TC to unlock.

I replaced mine @ about 85k miles due to rpm surging.
