Crazy trans trouble, any ideas?

ATS did a mod to the valve body to direct line pressure to the torque converter to keep it locked up in manual mode when the switch is activated. If the trans is not up graded it is easy to frag the input shaft. Been there done that. The EB will help in OD and third gear ( or any gear) if the torque converter is locked. You will have to have upgraded exhaust valve springs or you can float the valves. As for all the different line pressures ATS and I am sure BD when they build a trans if you tell them what you want to do they can build to your application. Mine came with a five year and 500K warranty.

ATS just modded the VB to not flood the gov circuit with pressure when lockup occurs, that has been around since the 518's. It also allows the trans to shift to\from OD locked up which is what destroys stock input shafts with the TQ rise.

EB will give nothing extra over the existing friction in OD, it cannot with the transmission design. As soon as the input shaft speed drops below output shaft speed the OD sprag goes into freewheel mode. Cannot get anymore than friction hold back when the sprag is unlocked.

All I know I can go down a 6% grade ( Mount Hood Oregon) in od with the torque converter locked with my fifth wheel and stay at 55 unless I drop it into 3rd. If you go to their web sight they explain what they do with the clutch packs. The stage 3 trans have very few stock parts in them.
