I am a newby to this forum and hope someone out there can shed some light on a problem. My '96 Dodge with the 47re was rebuilt at 33,000 miles and has since experienced problems with the lockup feature. New stock TC was installed as well. Cruising down the highway, if you touch the brake, or rapidly take your foot off the fuel, it unlocks as it should, but then refuses to relock. If OD is locked out , it refuses to lockup in 3rd. If OD is engaged and start from a dead stop, it goes thru the normal shift squence including lockup. However, it locks up at approx. 32mph. instead of after OD as the manual states. Which is correct? The dealer says my lockup for this beast is normal and there is nothing I can do with it, but it wasn't like this before, so I have a hard time buying into it. Dodge states the '96 "is a breed all of its own. "
Any ideas? Heat isn't a factor, as I have pulled off the freeway, and started from a dead stop and it shifts/lockups normally.
