I Just Had A Trans Shop Install A Kit In My Valve Body To Stop Converter Drainback. Something Went Wrong And Forward And Reverse Applied At The Same Time Cooking My Trans. The Shop Pulled The Unit And Is Rebuilding It Free Of Charge. Any Upgrades I Have To Pay For. Anybody Know Of A Good Torque Converter Upgrade Or Anything Else I Can Do. I Already Have A Shift Kit In It. 93W250 CTD

Contact Summit (near Akron Ohio) >>>> They have TC for diesels. Huges is another. Or, if you want to lighten the wallet for some time ahead, contact DTT

You kinda have to speak w/a dealer that is first gen transmission specific. If you contact some dealers they don't realize Dodge made diesel rigs in the early 1990's. It's true!! They don't know.

And please, upgrade that flex plate. Again you'll need to contact a dealer for the first gen rigs as many will try to sell you a $400/500 flex plate   when you should only pay $100/150 for the thing.

I'll second what Greenleaf said on the converter and Summit. The TCI converter P/N 142250 is just over $360. 00 now. I searched the TDR and found good review of it compared to OEM.

Cummins flexplate P/N is 3975464, just over $100.

What brand shift kit was installed? I bought one recently and they direct you to grind off the inboard land of the lip seal groove on the Low/Reverse Band Piston, to prevent it from binding up or cocking in the bore. It works I know but there are high performance upgrade L/R Band Pistons available reasonable, $20-70. 00. I would go that route rather than mill off the OEM one. As well as some of the other Billet upgrade piston internals with more sealing rings etc, help minimize internal pressure loss. Sonnex or Superior Brand

I built my Trans last summer I used the trans-go kit and love it. unfortunately I cheeped out and put a stock converter back in. This summer I will be replacing the converter. I would like to ride in a truck with the TCI, but at this point plan on buying a DTT or suncost. in my opinion the good TC is well worth the money. don't be like me, do it right the first time.
