I've yet to see WD set up on the big equipment trailers. Just RV's. Maybe there is a few out there. I pull a pintel type trailer about 30' with large I beams, do they make something for those types? I've only seen the ones that attach with "u-bolts".



I put around 1K on the hitch, never bent anything, truck rides level. Anybody running an equipment trailer with WD?
 
I am in the middle of this myself as am installing a flatbed and gooseneck hitch... . (try that one with this new frame!). Torquelift says their add-on to the factory hitch gives a 15,000 capacity w/o weight dist. George

IMHO this would be a major FU. Their hitch may withstand it but you'll waste the dodge receiver in a nanosecond. I'm an ME and I do a lot of fabrication. The way the hitch is installed, the limiting factor is the torque load on the crossmember. With a normal ball mount you've got (guessing) a 16" lever from the ball to the frame mount. More weight = more ft lbs. Now add one to 2 feet and you might safely tow a pair of Jet skis.



You don't have to take my word, but if you research it well enough I suspect you'll agree.



Perhaps you could have the torque lift supported at the ball mount end from the flat bed?? (with the other end in the receiver)

Perhaps the 30' equipment trailer was meant to be towed by something other than a light duty truck with a class IV Hitch.

You guys can all do whatever you want, but the hitches weren't designed for that kind of dead weight.
