 I just watched my truck leave my driveway on a flatbed. A Ford f 550 takeing my 2001 quad cab with all the extras away to the dealership. Went to change the fuel filter, put the new one in and guess what no freakin lift pump. I have been doing this service myself since the truck was new. Not so much as a sound from the lousy carter pump. With 50125 on the truck. I guess I will order the BD X monitor now so when it comes back I watch the bloody gauge. After all the money we spend on these trucks you would think they would solve this problem. The funny thing is I have a brand new lift pump in the box that I take with me on camping trips just incase of this sort of thing. A year ago I emailed Cummins Northeast and they said it would be a good idea to have a spare one on hand. Rep said like a spare tire. I guess I will get my monies worth out of the 7yr 100mi warranty I bought.

You didn't have a fuel pressure guage previously? I am on #3 also, ya gotta keep an eye on the fuel pressure.

I was on my 2nd LP and unimpressed with the pressure. It is now sitting in the floorboard of the truck, and I have a Holley Blue tucked up by the tank. Great pressure.

Will see over time how it holds up. Pump actually cost less than a Carter, and significantly less than some of the other alternatives.

If you take a new pump with you on camping trips, why did you have it towed to the dealer???

They take about an 1/2 hour to change out.

If you have been on the TDR long enough, you'll know enough to first have a FP gauge, and that a pusher at the least will solve your problems.

Get a FASS or a PE4200 and be done with it!
