towing 5k car with 11' camper

i have a 93 duelly with lance 11' camper
i want to pull a 5000 lb car on car trailer
some but not a lot . actually to race track once a year. and some car shows
should i custom do up a duel receiver
or stay with a class 5 w/ ext of about 3'
i would say nothing over 1000 lb toung
i dont leave camper on except for summer use. can i still leave spare tire under bed?
whats your story on using this setup!

I have been towing a similer setup for about 100,000 miles. I have a 10'6" Alpinlite camper on my 3500 and pull a 8'x16' tandem ax trailer weighing about 8,000#. I am using a class v(5) Rese hitch. I welded 2 extra recievers on the outer part of the hitch so the hitch has a triangle to it (helps stabilize it). I also use a load equiliser to lp with hitch weight. I have had no ill effects on the 2500 or the 3500, however the 3500 handles it MUCH better. I have 2 friends with similer hitches and they work fine 2. Check with Lance they have a very informitive trailering guide in there new sales literature.

r the 2 straight out, iam not sure of the trangile design, or how about 3 parrell
w/ the middle being the longest

actually lance is 10'10'' i think tr biggest
is 11 6
iam also planning dropping rear 2'' down
bed is to high, has factory overloads
w/ duelly

Do yourself a favor do a search on Tork lift,it's a beefy twin receiver setup that you wont need to weld any additional receivers to to make it solid. The company also makes a set of good frame mount camper tie downs that are worth a look.
JMHO.

The product is called Super Hitch,you may need to use that name for the search.

I use the super hitch with my 9. 5' camper and pull a 16' cargo trailer full of quads. The setup is very tough, rated to 10'000 lbs with an extension on, I believe. It has chains with turnbuckles that connect with the frame hitch to triangulate the whole system with the extension tube installed.
