Towing mirrors

Looking for opinions on the stock towing mirrors. I'm looking at a 2500 4x4 with the (not sure what to call them) small mirrors, and talked to dealer about installing the towing mirrors, based purely on looks. What do you guys think of the towing mirrors that have them and how about an additional 300+ to install parts included?

I also bought mine with the towing mirrors purely on looks, but they also are very useful in seeing what is next to the truck when driving. If it were me I'd look into getting them.

I ordered mine with them and like them a lot. Good viewing coverage. Rock steady.

Yeah I've been driving an 04, 1500 with the smaller mirrors and they are nothing to write home about. I really wanted them for a very shallow reason. I think they look better, but the added bonus that they provide better coverage is sweet.

The tow mirrors are my second favorite option on the truck, can't see towing without them... the CTD is of course everybody's favorite option:-laf

Anyone have a good source to buy the 04 towing mirrors other than the dealer?? Towing mirrors didnt even come to mind when we picked our truck from the lot inventory. Now that Im looking to buy a trailer, I think Id be stupid to tow with the small stock ones. Any ideas, please pm me or email me at -- email address removed --. Headed to the hospital first thing in the morning (Monday) for some work on my ticker for the next few days but will be up, runn'n and on the road by mid week, if all goes well and nothing serious is found. Ive been planning this short trip for months. I was never planning the past 3 months of chest pains. No sleep for me tonight, Im feeling like a cat with its tail under a rocking chair. Totally stressed out.

I wish I woulda had em on my truck... it was one option that I said was ok to not get, because I got other features I like. Now Im looking at getting them from the dealer. .

Gotta walk in backwards, with my pants down and hand em the KY.

Noop. Not on my 04. Have to manually flip them.

My '04. 5 has manually operated flip. I was just saying that they should make that a power option. Perhaps in a couple years...

what did the dealer quote on the install? did it my self for free and it took less than an hour. i'm sure if i needed to do it again i can do it in a half hour. i know the dealer will charge an hour or more even if it takes 10 min. by the way it's the only way to see arround the camper...

Check out the total cost. If my memory serves me, the mirrors cost about $388 pair MSRP. If you can get 'em $300 installed, I'd go for it.



The install is easy, but... , free install is better.

I got mine on e-Bay new for $300. They are really nice. As for the electric flip out, I was behind a chevy this weekend that had them! Dangit Dodge!!! :{

They are power adjustable, just not power flip out-- Actually was impressed that the power adjustments worked in both positions. I wonder what kind of switch recognizes which position the mirror is in. --



I too really like the mirrors. I only tow a ski boat, but my cab over camper is more obstruction than most trailers I've used and they work great. I Wouldn't order one without even if no plans to tow.

FWIW... . if you bust the plastic like I did on one you have to buy a PAIR OF THEM just to get the plastic for one. How did I bust the plastic? Something about how the barrel bore is lower that the site plane of the scope..... George
