Curious what everyone with a G56 and a Smarty JR towing is running.
I finally got my gauges installed last week, and couldn't resist going to SW2 (what is indicated as TOWING) Timing #2 (which I believe is highest timing. . kinda confusing) and trying it out unloaded. WOW big difference! I only tow 7500 lbs or less, so not heavy but Im a little worried that the 60 hp bump is marginal for the stock clutch.
I shift slow and let the clutch grab, and don't race the truck at all. Just wondering what others are running towing campers with Smarty JRs and stock drivetrain and tire diameter. Am I correct in assuming the G56 is not the weak link under normal conditions towing its the DM flywheel and clutch I need to be watchful of? Im easy on my stuff, I just felt with the stock programming (SW0) I was hitting a wall power wise on hills... even after downshifting. .
My EGTS seem to be lower since going to SW2 as well...
