This applies to vehicles equipped with a 5. 9L-24V diesel engine and automatic transmission built between engine serial numbers 56666444 to 56798357, with a date of manufacture of DEC. 15,1999 to NOV. 15, 2000.

If your engine falls into this group, the dealer needs to reprogram the ECM.

anyone had this TSB done ? my truck was built on the 15th and i'd hate to have it screwed up , never mind have to do 2 injector swaps just to get it done , i wonder if this is the power DEFUEL during shifts that the 2001 does with the higher HP ? i definitely don't need that with the low hp engine to begin with , sounds fishy to me ????

superdave , depending on the grade you should probably be taking it out of OD if you insist on staying stock , like you said above the posted limit , and egts will stay more in control , less chance of lugging .

My truck falls within the engine numbers and it runs great! I would hate to screw things up.

Running great is VA 275 PS and DTT 91% VB &TC #ad

EDIT... Maybe this is like a well we didn't place a void sticker on the engine so lets just reflash a performance downgrade just to be safe #ad
?
who knows?

thanks for the info. You were right my engine is right in the middle of that serial # range. I am going to check into getting the reflash.

Thank you

my engine doesnt lug down if kept at or above the 2100 rpm... is this the rpm the turbo is kicking in??? i can not ever remember my transmission kicking out of od unless i did it manually... i have had PCM 56040199AC and ECM 3237303055 done, whatever they are... but that is what caused me to lose mucho mpg about 25% less than before the dealer did the computer thing. power under load from start is great, just not at speeds. . thanks for all the answers. .
