US Gear Exhaust brake problem

Shopping for Reese Titan Hitch

I do not if this goes here?
I have 93 dodge 5. 9 d 2wd auto 160 miles
Im going to increase the power in the engine.
new injectors,16cm2 housing.
Q does any body have problems towing with the mods? I tow 25ft 5w trailer w 6000 pounds
the transmission can hold that much weigth?
Any information woul be appeciated.

I tow my fiver and gooseneck a lot and run as hard as she'll go. No regrets since the upgrades and no componant failures to speak of. Can't comment in the auto trans area.
The only negative things I've noticed while towing with more power are...
Rear tires wear out a lot faster.
I have to be a lot more carefull while towing on snow and ice.

Other than that, more power = pure towing pleasure.

I've added the stuff listed in my sig to pull our 8. 000 (loaded) fiver - no problems at all, but LOTS of joy as we pass similarly loaded later model Ford PS rigs up the grades #ad

Only downside, is the fact that the scenery goes by much faster, can't enjoy it quite as much! #ad

Problems towing with mods??? The reason we do the mods is to tow better! You will notice a BIG increase in fuel economy, less stress as a driver... your truck will be happy! Only a couple things to be careful of: watch your EGT's as its easy to get carried away with all that power going up a grade, and 2. when the light turns green, dont wail on it, just butter the power into the load.

The mods have definitly helped my towing. I tow a 15K Lb 5th wheel and the perfromance mods with the exhaust brake make my truck an awsome puller. #ad

He** Don D, since I boosted the power my rear tires are wearing out faster WITHOUT pulling a heavy load!! #ad

I'm like you when towing, put it to the floor and watch for high EGT's. Other than that and a new transmission once in a while, I love the way it tows!

We have a few first generation owners in the Houston area and a couple of them will be at the next Houston TDR meeting in January. Check the local events forum for details.

You might want to talk to NeedMoPower, I believe he has done some recent work on his first gen and is quite happy with the results. He should be at the meeting as well.

Hi JULIOMC
As you can see by my signature I am "BOMBed" and tow a 28ft trailer with no problems. I say go for it. If you are running an automatic you might want to install a transmission temp. gauge. I've also got a couple of responses in the First Gen. Forum under "Getrag problems" you might want to read.
Happy Trails
