TOYO mt 35 12.5 17 TIRES ? Anyone ?

Anyone know where there are a set of (4 or 5) Toyo 35-12. 5-17's tires at for sale?

if not has anyone run the DIRT GRIPPER by Parnelli Jones and how loud are they on the road. I'm looking for a good E rated tire.

I do believe the TOYO 35 x 12. 5 x 17 M/T's are on national backorder with some news of TOYO mnfg. stepping up production to fill all the backorders?

That said I could not wait and purchased the PJ dirt grip 35 x 12. 5 x 17's and find them to not be as noisy as expected on the open road, in fact i can only hear a dull humm with windows up (in a good way) just my . 02 worth. hope this helps.

ALL Toyo Mt's are on backorder. They are behind by 94,000 tires last I heard. Currently the tires are manufactured overseas and then imported but at a rate way lower than demand. Toyo is currently building a factory near Atlanta GA. to get the tires out for the demand. The factory is not done yet so we are still waiting on the foreign tires to come in. I was told that the factory should be done soon but they have to fill the backorders first. I also have a set on order also but it is in the last couple of weeks so I have a while to wait. :{

i just purchased 4 35x12. 50x20 at les schwab in provo utah. i had them shipped to me in az. i have called all over the us and found them there. call les schwab and they might have them. it is worth the wait. there is no subsustitue for toyo mts. good luck

I too have had Toyo 35. 1250. 17 Mt's on order since Sept 5 of last year. I just called Carolina Classic Trucks and they shipped a set to me last week. I have to say they are a very nice tire. Not noisy at all (compared to the Goodyear MTR's that were on the truck) and they ride beautifully. Well worth the wait in my opinion.

I have the PJ's and they are super quiet on the road. Nothing like BFG MT's which I didn't think were super bad, but the PJ's ride like a caddy according to my hick neighbor. It's like riding an AT tire ride/sound wise.

I don't have Toyo's, but will be keeping them in mind when my 285/70/17 BFGoodrich All Terrain KO tires finally wear out. I've got 33K on them and they are about 60% still so I've got awhile, I guess it would not be a bad idea to place an order for the Toyo MT's now and get them in 8-10 months??? Anyhow I absolutely don't recommend the Goodyear MTR, unless you are building a "Trail only" rig. Of which our trucks are far, far from. The MTR Goodyear has outstanding off-road traction, but most of my friends that are running the tire in a predominantly on-road application, daily have only achieved 18K-20K miles maximum tread life out of this very, very $$$$ tire. Again, I am at 33K and about 60% on BFG A/T's. Only reason I won't do the A/T BFG again is the side wall is way to soft. and mud traction is less than desireable, albeit quiet, great in rain & snow and tread life.



**As a side note I am cross shopping the 285/70/17 Cooper Discovery M/T if anyone is running this tire, if you wouldn't mind chiming in thanks.

I have a set of Goodyear MT/R 305's and I have over 25K on them and still have about 40% of the tread left. I love them, and if you rotate them correctly they will last. Just my $. 02

I've ran the BFG's AT since I bought my 95 CTD. On that truck I ran 33x12. 5x16. 5. I got 83 k miles out of one set and 79k out of another set. On my 04. 5 I went with the 315x70x17. I can't see me ever trying another brand. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

As promised If any one is interested the hard to find Toyo open country 35x12. 50R17 125Q E/10 there are 8 available for purchase. . Beware as I was told that the tires will have 3-8% increase in price June/July not sure if rising cost of fuel or just becuase the summer is approaching...

I visited with a local LS dealer who fully acknowledged the performance of the Toyo MTs but reported anectotally that guys "loose 1-2 mpg". I was wondering if anyone who has gone to the Toyo MTs has lost mileage?

Yeah they were also the one's who told me there be no way 35 would fit on my truck w/o a 4 inch lift. But I didnt listen to them because what the fawk do they know. Well ive been riding on 35's with 100% stock suspension and aftermarket rims. No rubbing what so ever.



MPG all depends on how you drive, its almost a wash and sometimes better since 35's change your gear ratio, so its less rmp when crusing at 65mph.



But what do we know, you could always trust your local tire shop guy...
