Well, like I have previously posted, I really dislike these tires. They are likely the worst tires on snow, packed snow, slush, ice etc. , that i have every had.

The wife's Dakota was down, and I was hesitant to have her drive the ram, not because she isn't perfectly capable, because she is. She has driven it through some of the bigger winter wasties that Maine has to offer. We normally have BFG TA/KOs on it though.

I told her these tires suck so be extra careful. She was. She is ok, but the truck now needs $3000 worth of work. Going down a hill, the truck started to slide, she went into a ditch, caught the culvert with the rear and busted the U-bolts. The rear tire went into the fender well, and it dropped the drive shaft.

The tires are only about 35% worn. Doesn't matter. They sucked new, they will suck old. Have I said these tires suck? They do!

Just my opinion, and experience. Your mileage may vary. If I have encouraged one person not to buy them that will experience real winter driving, then I will take a little comfort in that. The truck could easily have gone into an on coming logging truck. This is probably a good Los Angeles Tire. Just carry chains if you go up to Big Bear!;)

Sorry BFG, I hope yu will take me back!

My Toyo AT's were good in the snow, but horrible for longevity. (lived in Alaska with them, not NM) Sorry to hear about the bad news with the body shop and good luck with the BFG's.

I was up In Oregon for new years and hit some snow and ice with the Toyo A/T's, agree they straight up suck, I haven't been happy with anything about them, will gladly go back to a Yokohamas when I replace these which will hopefully be sooner then later

I was surprised to hear that these tires are bad in snow... then I realized you have 315 wide tires!! (even though your signature says 355, which I assume is a typo). I just read several reviews on this tire, and found that people either love the tire and it's great in snow... or they hate the tire and it is terrible in snow... one person got over 110,000 miles, another only got 15,000 miles.

I would think that those tires in a 265 size would do just fine with weight in the bed.

No 355 is not a typo, there 14" wide which granted is a huge negative in snow and part of the reason they suck in snow, I've always had a 12. 5 before and they did awesome in snow, I understand that u more more ground pressure in snow and a believe a 12. 5 is not to wide given the weight of these trucks. Not to mention a 37x10. 5 would be a seriously funny looking tire

LOVE my Toyo AT's. Never had an issue in snow, water, ice, dirt, mud, pavement, nothing.

I agree BFG AT's are good, that's what's on my 03. For me the Toyo is just as good if not better

355?? Yikes! When I ordered my Blizzaks, I asked Tire Rack if I could go with 285s and they stressed that 265 would be much better in the snow, and I now agree. I just measured the actual tread width of my 265s and they are 8. 5 inches wide. Even with narrow, skinny, full depth, top of the line winter tires, they still slide while accelerating with no weight in the bed and a light touch on the throttle.

If snow traction on the street is what you are looking for, narrow is better. If you are driving in seep snow on soft fields, like in a hunting situation, then wider will keep you up on top.

I wonder if Yoko offered a 355 if they'd be any better in ice/snow? You've got an unladen truck with a huge contact patch. They must rock in sand.

I must admit,my Toyo MT's do real well in driving rain and UT offroad, but I do miss my AT's. They did great in rain when new. I just wish Yoko would step up to the plate and issue an E rated 35". Great tread pattern.

I deffenintly cant argue that the 355 isint really a fair comparison since there so wide. Hard to say if a yoko that wide would be any better, I just got so spoiled by the Yoko's on my mega in snow that anything else seems to suck. With the yokos id stay in 2wd most of the time unless I needed 4wd, with the Toyos I found my self in 4wd all the time, but the huge contact patch didint help. I actually sent an Email to yokohama about an E rated 35 and 37, for me that would be the best tire, awsome traction, quiet, smooth. If I lived in Baja or somplace where I was offroad majority of the time Id run a Toyo M/T no doubt about it, but for 90% road with some sand and hard packed dirt, there just to aggresive and heavy for me. I havent had these tires in the sand yet but Feb 3-5th is the big DTX GTG so ill see how they do then!
