My favorite publication (after the TDR, of course) is Consumer Reports. Beginning on page 61 of the November 2001 issue they rated tires. Although they used a '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee running P225/75R15, they wrote that "you can use (their) overall judgements as a yardstick for other 15- and 16- inch sizes of these models. "
For all-season use, they rated the Toyo M410 highest. It costs $85/tire and has a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty.
For all-terrain use, they preferred the Dayton Timberline A/T. It cost only $55/tire and has a five year unlimited milage treadwear warranty.
The Dayton seems like a good tire for a reasonable price. Personally, my only reservation is their manufacturer: Bridgestone-Firestone.
