But what I was trying to say was when the brakes would energize with the manual slider, but not with the pedal, I usually find that the inertia detecting mechanism wasn't functioning properly (reason for the unit to have a leveling adjustment).

Also, there was someone that was advertising a pressure sensing switch that mounted on a brake line at the master cylinder. It was a brake controller that worked off the brake pedal pressure. Has anyone used this device? I think it would be the next best thing to the old hydraulic controllers.

First thing I would try is the leveling wheel. This is a completely different trailer. it may have more tongue weight, which will alter the level setting from the previous trailer. Run the leveling wheel to one extreme and try it. If it does not work , run it the other way. Also, if the trailer has set for awhile, the drums could be rusted up a bit for it to work on anything other than full voltage. Are the brakes adjusted up properly??

Good points, I'll give them a try once we get out of antarctica temps. :{
