Where can I buy the power/heated tow mirrors for the best price?

The dealer wants my left ball for them, you would think they where gold plated!! ;)

Thanks.

I sure would not give them my left ball for the mirror, even if it is gold plated. I don't know about your left ball, but my left ball is the meatier ball of the two. It has more mass and hangs down lower. I am no doctor but I think a person's left ball actually contains 75% of a person's baby batter. Do you know how much a good, used left ball is worth on the Chernobyl black market?? A bunch of money I assure you.

No sir, I am with you on that one. Not my left ball, I don't care how good those mirrors are!! :p Now I might negotiate with them over a pinky toe...

I wish I asked I paid Bill Piere Dodge in Seattle 369 ouch they said they just went up in price. I could of save 60 bucks but I needed them right NOW you know;)

Best prices

If you join dodgetalk.com and then call Dave Smith Motors in Kellog Il they sell parts to DodgeTalk members for Cost +15 which includes shipping.

Remember to tell them that you are a member of Dodgetalk.com.

Ask for Dave Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo.

If I were going to pay for new mirrors I would certainly buy one of the after market mirrors. The shaking that so many of us experience with stock mirrors makes them undesirable IMHO. I ask my dealer to replace the right mirror on my truck and he said he would send a tech out to a fairly smooth red brick road to see if he could duplicate the problem. I knew the road and knew it wasn't wash-board enough to make the mirror unusable so told him to forget it. A few days ago I dropped by another dealer and just happened to ask the service manger if he had replaced any mirrors and he said yes. I told him my right mirror was unusable on some of the wash-board roads here in Texas and he said call him Tuesday to see if it were in. When I called he said the tow mirrors were back ordered and they would start shipping again Oct. 2nd. Funny, this dealer sells about a quarter of the trucks the dealer I bought my truck from and he claimed I was the first to complain about the mirrors. I know where I'll buy my next truck.

If anyone is interested in a set of factory towing mirrors, heated/power, used, I'd be willing to sell. This summer we bought a travel trailer which is just a shade under 102" wide. With factory mirrors I spend a lot of time looking at the front of the trailer, missing the essentials, so I need to go to the aftermarket.

Silverfox,

My right mirror vibrated as well, but I tightend the three nuts that hold the mirror to the door, and the vibrating went away. I might add, the one nut that was easiest to get to was only on "finger" tight! Very happy with these tow mirrors now.

amsoilman,

It's the glass part of my mirror that is loose. Can that be tightened? I ask the dealer if it was possible to tighten the glass and he said replace is the only option. Do the three nuts that you are talking about hold the glass steady? I just went out and looked at the mirror and am not sure how to remove the cover to get to the three nuts that you referred to.

Silverfox,

I thought it was the mirror that was vibrating, but after tightening the three nuts it did not vibrate. The three nuts are the ones that hold the entire mirror assembly on the truck. If you open the door, you can see one of them. The other two are located behind the panel. The nut you can see when the door is open, is the one that was only "finger" tight.

Now I'm not saying this will indeed fix your's, but it wouldn't hurt to check just the same.

Thanks for staying with me on this, amsoilman. I was able to check 2 of the 3 nuts you mentioned but I can't get the panel all the way off that covers the third nut. I'm afraid to pull any harder on it. Any suggestions on getting the panel off? The 2 nuts I was able to check were tight.

After removing all the screws slide the panel up. (Don't just pull outward) It doesn't take very much force.

I to am getting ready to tackle this job of installing the tow mirrors. On back order, parts man said should be here in a couple of weeks. I was wondering if the used's standard power/heated mirrors would be worth anything or just collect dust in my garage.
