35" tires on stock 20" wheels with leveling kit...Toyo R/T's?

Evening Folks,

I had a 1500 EcoDiesel recently and mounted train horns directly under the fan shroud and an air tank/compressor under the passenger side. Since there is ZERO room under the engine between the frame on my 2500 4x4, has anyone mounted these? Found any spot for them perhaps? My only thoughts are the spare tire area if I remove the spare. Do I really need a spare anyway with 35" tires?

I had a triple tree of train horns with the biggest bell being about 5-6” across. I mounted the horn on the outside of the frame at the front of the bed. The only way you’d know there was anything there was the airline I had running to it. Or if you walked from behind and you would see the three huge bells.
It was loud and I used it a few times where people cut me off and even though it was mounted there it sure did scare the heck out of them when I hit it. I had the Airtank on the inside of the frame under the cab and same with the compressor.

Enjoy when you get one

I've got five mounted facing downward tucked up in the fenderwell at the front of the box under the truck. Three on one side and 2 on the other. still plenty loud in that location to make people drop there cell phones while driving!

Do you have a pic or pics? That location sounds interesting...

Hoping I can find somewhere to mount it soon.. looking forward to getting these things back on my 2500...

These aren’t good ones but they are all I have from my 2014. They are mounted to pieces of 1/4” aluminum plate, bent and bolted to the box supports. I put a push button switch on the floor where the older trucks had the hi/low switch so that I can just hit it with my left foot. Just make sure it’s mounted downward enough so that the parking brake doesn’t hit it when you put it on. I realized this the hard way while backed down in a boat launch. Sure made people jump!

So my horn has three different ones all attached to a single rail, each connected to each other by air line. Can I separate them from the main rail and just extend their air line between each other to allow me to space them differently throughout the underside of the truck? That'd help my placement woes a bit..

I don't know. If it's like mine, no. Mine are all attached to each other with one case base that they all thread into. Mine's like this one.

Your going to have one line from the solenoid as that will be your electric switch when you hit your button or your horn. So the further apart there will be a longer delay between the three

Dang that's what I was afraid of. Is it a noticable delay or a few milliseconds where it might not be noticeable?

Mount the solenoid on the center horn and plumb the other 2 with equal length air lines to reduce the problem. Unless you talking feet between horns I doubt you'll notice any lag.

I ended up mounting the compressor and tank yesterday and am planning on mounting the horns on the cross member under the DEF tank facing forward. The lowest part of the horns will still sit higher than then front differential.

I'd be concerned about pointing them forward at that low of a mount. they could/will fill up with road debris and ice etc. That's why I've pointed mine downwards.
