trans kickdown speed.

I noticed recently that my 90 ctd/727 trans will shift down from 3rd to 2nd at about 28-9 mph while coasting down to a stop. Hadn't given it much thought till today but I could have sworn it didn't shift down till I came to a complete stop in the past.

I had a ‘92 for a short time with the A518. It had been built by BD back in the day. It would downshift like yours. I liked it, wish my 47RE had done that.

Could be the TV cable is hung up?

nope I've got a spring holding in the proper position

I remember now I had to put a nut and bolt in the slider to make a positive return. put it back in and voila works fine

Yep, I put a bolt in the link years ago for a positive return and forgot to put it back in after a head gasket change. Back then. I tried lubing the cable but it would not return on its own. I had gotten rid of the factory return spring because it was way too stiff.Used a lighter spring. Anyway all good now and shifts down as it should.
