Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) trans linkage/reverse lights

My reverse lights suddenly went out yesterday. I checked all the wiring and lamps - they are good. I started messing w/ the trans. mounted switch and I believe the linkage is out of adjustment. My factory manual does not give me much help on this matter. It shifts in and out of reverse and park just fine. I can get the reverse lights to come on if I place the shifter lever between park and reverse. Anyone had this trouble..... How do i adjust that linkage? Any help would be appreciated. I've searched the forums w/ no help. Thanks

I seached high and low for the exact problem. Could be the adjustment OR could be the switch in the transmission. Checked the switch which was bad. I just haven't replaced it yet. I used a meter to check the switch, but I can't remember the process.
