Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) trans noise

I have a 02 2500 auto, I tow a 10000 rage-n-rtv toy hauler. Going up moutian roads in az "phx-flagstaff" I here the truck make noises like the transmission is having a hard time, is this normal. thanks robertg

Sounds like you might be letting the engine RPM's get too low, keep your foot in it and don't let the RPM's get below 1800/2000 and see if it don't quieten things down. bg
