i have a 96' auto and when im driving and let off the throttle going like 47-53 it comes out of lockup and takes a few secs to go back in. would it be the TPS? any ideas what is wrong ?

The transmission was designed to come out of lockup anytime you let up on throttle in overdrive. I believe what you are seeing is normal.

A TC lock up switch will allow you to manually keep it locked up. It works great when going down long steep grades. Acts kind of like a manual transmission.

Really? Even in cruise control when going down a hill?

If the cruise is set right it will hold the lock. If the throttle goes to idle and stays there for a few seconds the PCM will drop the lock. With an exhaust brake and the cruise control you can keep it locked. That was the way it was done before the lockup switch was discovered by Russell Ward. Read all about it in issue 11.

Yep. I don't think your cruise works though. Does it? Go to bed!!!

Yes Travis, the cruise works. I don't think yours works at the moment though, does it?

And I don't sleep... :-laf
