Trans temp guage

I'm going to install a trans temp guage and I saw the dip-stick sensor in Geno's catalogue. Has anyone used this and how does it work.

i put an auxilliary transmission filter on. permacool from whitney. installed in the line to the cooler. it has a port for the sender unit..... just another thought... .

Yea I have installed one. Works good. In pan temperatures shold be as accurate as you can get. What questions do you have?

Sender block from jannetty's......

I ordered the tee from Jannetty's to cut into the line going to the trans cooler. I heard the temps from the pan are not the max due to mixing with the returning cooled fluid. Just a thought.



I read some people are changing the whole cooler line with one from a 94?? It has a place for the sender right in it.

I,ve had mine on the dipstick for about 6 mos. I used the

tie wraps, make sure you get them as tight as you can.

I got the in line fitting coming in the mail. Getting tired of

unpluging it to check the fluid.

I put on a cooler line from a '94 and put the sender in the port (the line is a little pricey, though). The thinking here is that this is the earliest place to see if the temps are getting up there and thus a possible problem. The temps there are higher than pan temps due to the cooling that occurs before returning to the pan. The fluid in the cooler line is right out of the hot transmission before it gets cooled. This temp should be the most accurate and consistent - removing variables that may occur through the cooler and before the fluid returns to the pan. Another sender in the pan would probably be a good idea to compliment mine.

I also have the 94 trans line. Works great and is easy to install. Don't have the # though I am sure someone will post it.
