Trans Temp
Ya'll need to be stating where you are measuring the trans temps to be comparing apples to apples... Here is a rule of thumb: If you are measuring temps with the newfangled cooler line port ( which I am ) your temps will be approximately 30 degrees warmer than some one measuring in the trans pan. Also the cooler line location is more instantaneous. In normal lockup towing or not, I see a temp right around 175 degrees. If stopped at a stop light, or driving in city traffic never gettin to lockup, I can see 210 degrees very quickly with it going to 220 if I am not careful. Since I have gotten the DTT smart controller, I get lockup in 3rd now and that really helps keep temps down.
I believe that if you are measuring the temp in the pan that you don't want to see any more than 190 degrees or so. If in the line, you should be OK to 220...
To keep trans temps down: 1) Get into lockup! 2) put trans in neutral when you come to a stop light. 3) Get a Mag Hytec double deep!!
