I have received conflicting opinions on this topic. I am not real happy with the shift characteristics of my new-to-me 2002 HO 6speed transmission and am approaching 36K miles quick. Some have indicated the warranty was until 70K for my year. Is that true?

Thanks.

It depends on when you bought it. I have one '02 with a 7/70 drivetrain warranty and the other is 3/36. I would call in for an appointment and tell them your milage then it is documented before you go past the 36k barrier just incase. If you document the problem before 36k and get it in not much after they will still fix it. You could always call and ask what warranty your particular truck has as well.

Call any dealer and read them your VIN. Their DC computer should be able to tell you what warranty your truck has in a few seconds. If you don't remember hearing that it has a 7/70 warranty it may have the 3/36 like my '01.

Mine too all except the 0% interest part. I leased mine.

Just that the shifter is hard to get into first and reverse and the 2-3 shift doesn't grind exactly, but you can feel a few teeth on each shift. I have searched and it seems common, but I want to know if I have to worry about it now since I just rolled 35,600 miles last night.

I towed a good load about 200 miles for the first time with her over the weekend and when we got there it was pretty difficult to get her into reverse to park. It felt more like the clutch was not fully disengaging. I'll have to check it all out.

6 speed shifting

Zachv,

I have an '01 six speed and it does the same thing. Really gets under ones skin. First transmission I have had that shifts like that. Dealer hers says it is normal? Hopefully mine will shell out before 100 k since i have the extended warrantee. Dealer told me that since I bought it used it will only have 3/36 instead of 7/70
