How about the dummy (that would be me, by the way) that stands behind (DIRECTLY behind) the transfer case - drain positioned under the T-case, and removes the drain plug... neglecting the laws of gravity and the properties of fluid under pressure (said pressure created by said gravity acting on said fluid) - all of which combine to propel the fluid in a well-defined parabolic arc, who's path happens to intersect with the aforementioned dummy's chin.

ATF+4 not only smells bad - it also tastes bad. Not quite the pungency of 90W gear oil, but it's in the ballpark. :)

Tom. I want you to be aware you inflicted a fair amount of pain on me today. I had retina surgery in my right eye two weeks ago and have been face down for the last ten days. While read your post with my left eye, I began to laugh to the point of tears. At the same time I began to feel excruciating pain in my right eye. So, thanks. Thanks a lot. Nothing a couple of 800 mg Ibuprophens can't handle but OMG, was that ever funny!!! For the record, I pull the skid plate and stay at arms length from the T-Case. I am quite sure ATF does not have the taste I would like. ;)

A one liter bottle cut to the right length, works as great funnel to go right through the hole in the skid plate. I bet a funnel would suffice as well, but they are harder to find in my mess.

I just did this today. I left one bolt in skid, and swung it out of the way. I used a gear lube bottle tip on the ATF bottles, was very easy and quick.
