Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Transfer case grinding 2H - 4H

What could be the problem with my transfer case when it grinds a little when I try putting it in 4wd while moving? Never done it before in the 5 years I have had it. Any speed it would just pop into 4wd. It does not grind when I stop and pop it in. No other unusual noises... ... 167 hits when I did a search but no real answers for this problem.

May be normal. Don't forget to change the lube. Dexron 3 is fine (ATF) and cheap.
