Okay so I got a question about the transfer case rattle, supposedly the following parts are going to be required:

BUSHING-S #52077672

WASHER-2N #00869770

WASHER-FL #00120395

ONE PLAIN COTTER PIN NO PART #

Do I just need one of each? Has anyone done this, by swapping out these parts did it really fix it?

I know there is a kit that will reduce the rattle. I fixed the rattle in my last 4x4 with a roll of duck tape. What you listed may well be the kit. Do a search in the 1stGen forum, and maybe the Discontinued Parts forum.

Some silicone or rubber hose slid over the part that likes to vibrate works well also. Cant rember who on here gave me that tip but it does work well.

Now I only have 4000 other vibrations to work on.

On my truck I was able to look under it and wiggle everything and figure out the rattle. I've heard it can be diffrent.

If you look under the FAQ section there is a few posts on a less redneckish fix?

The hose is split and sometimes placed over the linkage rod and sometimes short pieces are placed on the "gates" that guide the flat part of the shifter under the pivot. The factory put plastic inserts on the guides to prevent rattles, these may be worn through or missing. There are three bolts that hold the shifter to the trans. Be sure they are tight and the pivot is clean and well lubed, there is also a spring on the pivot assembly to keep tension on the stick.
