Transfer case vent hose (maybe)

2002 2500 HO 6 speed. Got home the other day and noticed a hose dangling under the engine bay. It appears to be a vent hose that routes to the right side of the bell housing. I got underneath and took a look. Found what appears to be a vent nipple on the left side of the transfer case. I had the clutch replaced not long ago so they had everything out. The clamp was slid up the hose, so was not properly replaced. Can anyone confirm the proper routing of this vent line? Thanks!

Just along the top of the transmission, nothing special here. It ends up at the rear end of the engine block somewhere.

That’s what I did. Just wondered how it was done at the factory. No big deal, and thanks for confirming.

I think on mine it was free floating from one end to the other.
Later one I used some zip ties because I didn't like the factory setup either.
