Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Transfer case

My nephew grenaded the transfer case in his '95. He has access to a case from a '01, gasser. Both are 4x4 and automatics. Would the '01 case be a direct swap? Thanks.

if he needs a transfer case i have one out of a 94 12 valve automatic it has 90k on it and worked flawless when i took it out. i will take 375. 00 plus the shipping

If he has a 2500, auto, It "should" be a NP241 LDL with 23 spline, female, input shaft. If he has a 3500, or a manual transmission, it "should" be a NP241DHD. I believe the DHD is a couple inches longer, to allow for the wider chain. 1500's use a NP231 case. There should be a round idenyifyer tag on the front of the case. A NP241DHD will bolt up, but you will have to shorten the rear drive shaft.

check the tag on the case. My 95 2500 came with the dhd case
