High rail pressure at idle after truck sitting a week

Nv5600 reverse

Can anyone tell me what these wires are, or what's up with then? They are near the plug on the drivers side of the trans. It appears that someone who owned it before me did something with the wiring, and I don't have a clue why, unless it's somehow related to the aftermarket alarm system, or the remote start that doesn't work correctly. Or perhaps it's related the slushbox feel for the trans under certain conditions... I don't know.
If anyone can help out with some info it'd be greatly appreciated.
Truck is a 2006 2500 mega cab, 4x4.
I can try to take better pics if anyone needs different views to see what's going on. I was in a bit of a hurry when I took these.

It's for P/N safety and Gear indicator on the dash.
Someone here will provide you with the wiring scheme as all these wires go into that plug.

Excellent, thanks! That was my suspicion, but wasn't at all sure lol.
I'm assuming the splicing mess is probably for the remote start that doesn't work. Maybe I'll get lucky with some help from someone here and be able to fix the mess and get the remote start to work as a bonus.
Currently, the remote start will power everything up, fuel pump on, grid heater if cold etc, but won't actually activate the starter and turn the engine over.

RS also needs to disable the SKIM, how was that's accomplished? I wanted RS desperately but it is so complicated on our trucks that I let it go.

I honestly know nothing about the remote start, or alarm, as they were both installed by a previous owner. The alarm works properly, the remote start never has. It would be nice though.

Just a word of warning from my experience with aftermarket alarms. I bought a used Grand Cherokee that had a Scorpion alarm on it. Something about the alarm went bad and left me stranded (it wouldn't start) with the alarm going off. I removed all of it I could find but it still wouldn't start. I finally found a small module WAY up in the dash. After removing it and disconnecting the battery for a few minutes I got it started.

I've heard similar horror stories, and am hoping it doesn't happen to me at some point, but feel that if I start removing it and miss something I'll end up just as screwed, so have left it alone so far. The remote start and trans wiring would be nice to figure out though.

I'm sure someone will chime in and provide a diagram for your truck.
And from your pictures you might want to buy a pigtail for that as your connector looks pretty hacked.
Park/Neutral safety switch connector you are looking for, ebay or Amazon sells them.

Ozy, I’ve looked all over AllData for a connector diagram for the Range Finder Switch and this is all I can come up with.

@BigFish, do you know what brand and model your alarm is? Maybe we can find installation instructions for it.

I don't have the foggiest of ideas what alarm it is unfortunately. I assume if I dig around long enough I might find a control box or some such thing that may give a clue, but at the moment, no idea.
I guess my primary question is... Will the way mine is wired currently, or the two non connected wires, (aside from being a tota hack job as far as the actual connections) have any negative effect on the way my trans operates?
Second question being, would the way its currently wired, or not wired (since there is two wires not connected at all) be the reason the remote start doesn't actually activate the starter?
Third question, why do I have 2 loose wires not accounted for on the diagram posted here?

Just for clarity, we're talking about this connector, correct?

That Range Sensor doesn't have anything to do with how the transmission operates, it's for your PRNDL and so the ECM and PCM (and in your case, the alarm) "KNOW" what gear the transmission is in. I imagine your added wires are/were for the alarm and remote start. From what @Ozymandias said, the remote start can't be made to work on your truck but the PO ran those loose wires in an attempt to make it functional.

Yes, that is the connector. That's a bummer that it's so much trouble to get the remote start to work on these trucks. I know I've seen at least one 2006 cummins with functional remote start, but not a truck or owner I have access to, so no chance of find out how it was accomplished.
Since it doesn't have an impact on the performance of the trans, I may leave it alone for the time being.

Yes it's pretty wild, sometimes they hide a key somewhere behind the dash to fool the SKIM module*.
These trucks are really not meant for a remote start.

*which renders the anti-theft system useless at all times.
