Hey all - I just recently installed a Juice CS on my '06 and noticed my transmission temps running about 30* higher than my buddy's identical truck with Juice CTS. I'm seeing 175* during normal driving with ambient temperatures around 80*. In stop & go driving, I see almost 200* at the same ambient air temps.
After reading several threads regarding transmission temps and the transmission cooler t-stat, I decided to get some thermal readings from the transmission cooler, lines, and pan.
Check out this picture of a transmission cooler (not mine) with the temps noted for various locations. In addition to the cooler temps, I noted the following other temps:
transmission outlet line: 150* at transmission
transmission return line: 138* at transmission
transmission outlet line: 145* midway to cooler
transmission return line: 122* midway to cooler
transmission pan (bottom): 137*
transmission pan (top): 150*
Juice reading at time of measurements was 182* with ambient air temp of 80*. This was after normal unloaded highway driving with a couple of stoplights.
What do you all think about whether the cooler t-stat is working properly or not? Thanks in advance for your input!!
Steve
