Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Transmission cooler

I got front ended recently when a woman had a seisure and hit my parked truck, so now I need to replace the transmission cooler and would like to upgrade it to a stacked plate design. I just dont know the inlet outlet size and how its measured. The actual pipe inside diameter on my stock one is 3/8" but the hose inside diameter is 1/2", so do I order a cooler with 3/8 or 1/2 fittings?

I put and add on one with a fan 1/2" Derali (sp) with fan and fitting and hose and made a mount under the truck. check out this site for the install
