I have 20,000 miles on my truck and probably around 25 or 30 i will be doing my transmission fluid change. What i want to know is, can i drill a hole in the pan slowly or so to drain the pan. Reason why is i want to be able to install the drain plug so i can mount the sensor for my gauge without pulling the pan off. Is this a bad idea because of possibly getting metal shavings in the pan or can i do it. Even better is what will be the simplest way. Can i drill the hole in the pan and then pull the pan off or do i have to pull the pan off first. Any help or other suggestions would be great guys. Thanks.
