Transmission question

So taking off from a stop sign, I got this big clunk sound, Sound like maybe a u joint going out. I pulled over looked underneath couldn't find anything loose, Checked mounts other u joints. Nothing. Drove it around all normal, no vibration of any kind out the ordinary. But this sound like something in transmission going out or maybe an issue in the rear end? Any other ideas of what else I can look for? Until then I'll keep driving until it happens again.

Don't know if it applies to your truck, but it seem there were members who found their slip yokes were binding, causing a pop or clunk.

happen to me once ( CLUNK )took me a day and a half to find. my driver side rear leaf shackle rusted and broke. truck made no other sounds. it hit the bed .
