I agree that a modified valve body would be a better choice than the pressure lock, it all depends on what your doing with the truck and what your want to do with it.
I had gauges when my transmission was stock and the transmission temps never went over 180 and in lockup would stay right around 160-170 degrees, even in the summer heat of 90 degrees. The only time it would get close to 200 was when I would back the camper into a tight area and had to manuver for some time, If I could back straight in then it would stay around 180, remember this is all stock. My transmission temp sending unit is located in the hot line comeing out of the transmission. Another interesting thing is my trucks transmission would run cooler in OD lock than in 3rd lock at highway cruiseing speeds. Also the above is taken with stage 1 injectors, but no transmission mods.
