This TBS is probably what is happening. Its not really for a Cummins powered truck, but good tech info:

I personally have had my speed sensor out 3 or 4 times since the truck was new to change the pinion gear for the speedometer. Still have the original O-ring on the adapter. Never saw the slighest drip.
The TSB says transmission fluid could weep through the actual Speed Sensor, or its leaking past the O-Ring. I don't know which it is, but a new O-ring is 10 cents.
Sounds like you have got a couple of bad speed sensor adapters that don't last very long before they leak transmission fluid. ?
My speed sensor is 7 years old and has 103,000 miles on it. No leaks yet.
