transmission swap

My sig trucks new trans and torque convertor came in today. Debating about whether to put it in myself or have a shop do it. The people at DTT assured me that I could do it myself but I'm not sure how long it usually takes to do the swap. Does anyone know of anyone in the okc area that might be able to do this swap over the weekend? Cause every day during the week that I'm without my truck I lose money.

Oh, about 8 hours with freuqent breaks for refreshment.



If you have a trans jack its pretty easy. I can do it on the floor in less and not rush. A hoist makes it way easier.

Thanks cerb. I found a guy who is gonna do it. And I'm gonna supervise to make sure he follows all of the criteria and pressure checks etc. I just don't feel comfortable replacing a $6000 part that has so many things that have to be just right, since I have no trans experience.

Almost done installing new trans. Just have to run a few pressure checks and then adjust accordingly.

FYI check the two bushings that hold the xfercase linkage in place, mine were damaged in a transmission rebuild and the linkage fell out.
