BrakeSmart Service... WOW!!!

We were thinking about taking a trip that involved driving form detroit to basically niagara falls in canada. How are the roads? Similar to interstates in the US? Stop and go driving? Speed limit?

Thanks

Dan

Hey Dan,

i am about 45 min from niagara falls, in canada, the roads here are nice once you get away from the city, speed limit is 100km/h or 62 mph, but as you will find out everyone runs 70+mph :-laf

Thanks for the info, Are you west of Niagara. I think it was like 402 and 403 like an interstate? Provincial route what does that mean? Thanks

We debated to 80/90 thru ohio, or go thru detroit and take the canadian route. I know fuel is cheaper in the US. No sure how much longer the ohio route would take. I do think the trip is postponed, I think I convinced my wife taking a 1 year old and a 3 year old on an 8 hour drive for 3-4 day getaway is nuts.

we just did it this summer. Went from Western MI to Niagara onto Cooperstown, Lake George, Finger lakes and back through Canada to MI.

Roads were nice. We were towing 9500lb TT so we pretty much stayed at 65MPH. .

Diesel is hugely expensive in Canada, so try to plan your fillups to avvoid getting fuel in Canada.

I almost made it without having to fuel in Canada, but fell 30 miles short. Cost me $120CN to fill-up. .

You could hit some traffic once you get to the Nigara area on the QEW. .

Border crossings into US slower than into CA. Coming back from Sarnia into Port Huron took ~45-60 minutes...

Have a great trip.

one of these days the wife and I are going to go to Niagara Falls. I plan on doing the Lake Erie circle tour.

I guess you haven't had the pleasure of driving through California yet. You think fuel is expensive in Canada try CA.

By the way, if you were only short of the "line" by about 30 miles why didn't you just pump a couple of gallons to just get you into the U. S. where you could have filled up so much cheaper????
