Kurt,

Maybe not the case here. I look to this forum for the truth to make a good decision and not repeat a mistake someone else has made. I would hope other members view it the same way. If I wasn't happy believe me I would be screaming from the podium to prevent someone from making the wrong decision. #@$%! .

Too bad we can't test drive this stuff. Ride and feel is a very subjective thing. I tried to be extra careful to put things in context. So for others sake lets get it clear. This system has it's roots in high speed off road racing. That's the way they sell it. If you're looking for a plush Caddy ride you ain't gonna find it in T-Rex. It works best off road at high speeds. High speed is relative to the version they make. (Bilstein, Fox, or King).

My guess is that they found an added benefit on the Bilstein system that improved the ride on the type of driving that many of us do on the freeways over expansion joints. Improved. I asked Kent specifically to quantify that and he said some people think it's great and some people say they don't feel a thing. I talked to a few people and took the chance.

So we're just relating our experiences. Yes, I feel that my truck now rides pretty much like my Yukon and old Chevy 1500. That's fine with me and really all I was looking for in addition to washboards and rutted roads. Before the ride empty was harsh and too uncomfortable for the family. Now they're fine. Offroad - WOW!

I'm sure you can find others on this forum who feel the stock ride is marshmellow soft and we're weenies for looking for a softer ride. :D

What we need is a harda$$ meter! :-laf

Good luck finding a solution.

Kurt,

Thanks for your candor. Keep us posted what happens after Kent gets back.

My 04 handles much better on washboard than my 98 or 02. But it could still stand improvement which is why I'm saving for the T-Rex. Nothing drives me nuts like shaking my truck apart down a washboard road, like the fifty mile bench road outside Escalante spring 03. 50 miles of shake, rattle, and roll at five miles per hour. Or the Rooster Comb-Cottonwood road this spring.

Fox's are in the truck! Now these guys are mean. Can't believe I beat TrailDog to a washboard smoother-outer but he beat me to a flatbed (still not done yet). Speed matters with these shocks. The faster I go the smoother it gets. Verdict on the Fox's over the Bilsteins will be determined as the Bilsteins work better at slower speeds based on their design. Alcan and MT with camper here I come! Maybe Baha this winter, too! More later. This is fun... George

This thread is great. Have started looking at the T-Rex and emailed Kent some with questions. This thread is helping as well. Keep the info/reviews coming. I have decided to do it just haven't decided on which system. So far leaning towards the Bilstein but???.

Trail Dog:

I know that road and several others out there like the Hole in the Rock road that runs on the north/east side of 50 mile bench down low. 65 miles of progressively worse washboard until the last few miles or so is just slickrock with some washboard in between. Best part is no outlet so you get to do it again to get back out. Definitely a teeth rattler. Are you out there just sightseeing/ passing through or doing the slot canyons?

My TRex got way laid by an impulse bumper buy when I was in Billings for Easter. I've started saving again. :)

Got to make before I have to shell out $1200 for Cooper Discovers for winter time. :(

Barry, I try and make a SW canyonland trip in the springtime. Good to get away from all the snow for a while and get a reminder that someday it will be spring here too. Last year it was the 50 mile bench trip which included Wolverine/Horse, Picaboo, Spooky and Brimstone slots off 50 mile, and then down Hurricane Wash to Coyote to the Escalante. Incredible country! Oo.

Had to step over a small rattler in Peekaboo. Brimstone was quite dark and flat claustrophobic scary!

Systems looks great guys and well built.

I called TRex today very nice people.

All I am looking to do is get my front up a couple of inches for my new 315's.

$2K for the system plus install just wasn't quite what I thought the cost would be. The front spacer option for 450 installed is more WIFE friendly if you know what I mean.
