Just wanted to let everyone know that the Trexus MT's are very nice on the street, which was a big surprise. I just removed my BFG M/T's and was expecting the Trexus tires to be more noisy and maybe rougher in the ride department (handling also). But not the case. They ride very quiet, and I mean much less noise then the BFG's. What was most interesting was the ride, very soft and not the vibration/rumble of the lugs hitting the ground like found in most Mud tires. The rubber is much softer then the BFG's and soaks up much more of the roads surface, not allowing it to enter the cab. So far I really like the tires, they look aggressive and very different, yet ride soft. Seems like most other I see on the road like then as well, I got quit a few thumbs up during my test ride. I suspect they will wear faster the the BFG's , softer rubber means faster wear. It they continue to ride as smooth and quiet, then I don't mind loosing a little in turns of expected tire life. The real test will come when I hook up the trailer.

The Alcoa's, are new and so far look to be very nice wheels. I polished them out and then used "Zoop Seal" to coat the wheels for protection. This was a very simple process, and took only about a 1/8th of the Zoop Seal to do. Once mixed it has a 6 days lifespan, so I'll do another set of wheels later this week. I have hear many good comments on it's ability to protect, I'll post latter with what I have found. There is a big difference between the steel wheels and the aluminum wheels, must be 15-20 lbs. That would be alot to anyone that races their ram on the strip, or pulls with it. I like the looks of the Alcoa's, much more now that they are mounted. I was surprised with the finished product, and feel they make a great Tire/Wheel combo.

Just my opinion on the Trxus tires, they are just for looks! The 285/75-16's I had wore terrible, towing or not. I could almost see the tread disappear on a 700 mile roundtrip grossing 23 k. They were also terrible in light mud, they did not clean themselves. They also wander alot, but when compared to similar tires, they are very quiet and ride well for load range E. They are probably the best E rated mud tire out there. But I guess I expected too much of them. Hope you have better luck with yours!

I too was going toget the Trexus tires when I bought my last set. But everything I read and heard told me that they would not make it to 20,000. I be interested in how long they last for you. :)

Hopefully they wear well. God I chew up BFG's like they were the last remainig set of hot dogs with the works in a playoff game. It's official I now am jealous of the rig that has become "Y-Knot Go Extreem"

I went out again today on the expressway, I do not get any any wander at all. The ride is really unbelievable for a Mud tire, smooth and no tire noise, I expected them to be louder then my BFG's. Time will tell with the wear issue, I fully expect them to wear faster then the BFG's, the rubber compound is so soft they have too. For me, it isn't an issue. I put very few Miles on my truck every year, so bad wear or not, they will still last me 6-7 years.

I am interested to see if the Zoops Seal works as claimed. Be nice if it does, but the process is so simple I wonder?

Also, thanks for the low down on the gage faces 4(T). The Nu image kit arrived yesterday along with a Carbon Fiber dash kit, I'll install it over the week-end

Those Hotshot wheels look great. I'd like to put them on my '96 but apparently they're for the 3500 only. All I could find for the 2500 was LTX and Classic Alcoas. :{

y-knot, Beutiful combo! mind if i give a few tips? i have a lotta exp. with them. 1. KEEP um at 60psi. 2 i know it'

ll be a pain but you HAVE to rotate um. They will cup on you if ya don't. They are Very soft, so they wear fast, i destroyed a set of um in 20,000 mi. On the dyno it was actually spitting chunks of rubber off. ( 600 rwhp didnt help much thought). . lol They look sweet on your rig, and there a lot cheaper than BFG's too...

Your advice is well taken, I regularly check air pressure and the rotation thing is all to familiar, just ask my back. The soft rubber sure makes for a wonderful ride, combined with the air bags it feels like limo. The BFG's are now my official bad weather tires I'll run them from late November to March. Yes the Trexus tires are cheap also, prob lay 20-25 dollars a tire less.

Sorry to hear that the Hotshots don't fit on the 2500, but then again, your 2500 can run the Magnum while my 3500 can not. That is a great looking wheel, it is a Hotshot with some extra machine work done on the top surfaces. They used a ball mill to create the decorative lines, you should look into that one for your truck.
