Hey all!,
I've managed to be convinced that a fiver makes more sense to the family than a camper. Now begins the PHun of doing the homework... .
Given my truck (see sig) do ya think that one of the 26 foot fifth wheel toyhaulers would be a good or a bad match? I see they spec at 12,000 GVW (max) with pin weight of 1,380lbs (whatever that represents) and the two models (Tahoe and Wanderer) I'm looking at are dry weight around 7380lbs. A quick look at the owners manual shows a max trailer of 9450lbs with a GCWR of 16,000lbs so that looks like it's legal at least.....
What kind of electric brake did you RV'rs have installed to stop the mighty beast and it load? Recommendations on what to look out for?
Am I in for a buffeting ride from heck and need to rethink or am I ready to start looking at fiver hitches next?
Brian
