Morph, sorry about your truck and the damage.



I noticed from your profile that the engine had some power upgrades. Did the upgrades cause egts that had to be controlled? If so, then the engine will also be an item that will require attention and checking.



Hope all goes well with the repairs and insurance people.

As to how they got it started, I don't have a clue, the steering lock was not broken, there were no keys inside it as I have one key and my parents in oklahoma have the other key. The wiring under the dash had been rummaged around.



The truck was loaded on a wrecker last night heading to Cummins Atlantic to get a thorough inspection from them and I sent them a specified list of things that I am very concerned about with the drivetrain. IE: Injection pump, Rearend (they left the emergency brake on and rear brakes seem to be down to metal), Transmission, clutch, and especially the engine as regards to EGT's and thier effects on the various components. The turbo is now a very dark golden color.



When the truck is repaired, I'm installing an alarm system with the alarm being hooked up to Air Horns. Second, I'm looking into either a fingerprint system to disable the computer in the truck and somekind of tracking chip (still researching these).

sorry to hear about your situation. I thought I read somewhere you are pretty big into electronics and computers. Reason being - the owners of the bar I work in have another bar with a fingerprint scanner (?) on the registers so that only a manager can void items. I'll see if I can get a brand - you could get that scanner and have it on the dash next to the ignition. PM me if you are interested and I'll do some foot work for you. I already know where I can get a fingerprint scanner, and it will fit into the rest of my plans for the truck. I had just finished specing out a computer for the truck to do realtime diagnostics with it and act as an mp3 player... . I'm just going to add to the specs.

Good idea sending it to Cummins to have them look at it. I would suggest really making sure about egt's no burning any pistons or anything like that.

I would also have the chassis thoroughly checked out in case these morons tried jumping over stuff with a 7k lb truck... ... ... don't think the chassis would be too good after that.



Best of luck with the insuranc company. Hope they repair your truck back to it original condition.

So sorry to hear of your misfortune. The pictures made me sick! What kind of satisfaction can someone get by doing this to someone elses personal property? These people are broken and need to be removed from society!

dont forget, if the police ever catch who did this you can get a judgement against them for the four wheeler too. once you have a judgement you can do everything but garnish wages to get payed back including reasonable interest (since you didnt have insurance the money will go to you). i had to go back every five years to renew my judgement. the thought that one of them was drawing SS from his dead beat dad who died and was out stealing everything under the sun, was what still gets me. the goverment should stop payment on SS to criminals. he's in "grown-up" jail now, and when he gets out he's got a dept to pay to me. 11 years of interest + his third of the judgement.



I had to do this to the punks that stole my four wheeler. I recovered mine on my own though. i stalked them for a week and stole it back from the little *******s, after i found them riding it in the trails i rode on



i'm happy and sad for you Morph. hope you make the best of it though, that is whats important.
