If you're expecting to have your truck shipped from St. Louis soon (anytime after 5/27), read on.

DC Customer Serivce just gave me the status of my truck: built 5/26, shipped 5/27 but no railcar number.

No railcar number because it's sitting in a storage yard in St. Louis waiting for the union/non-union rail guys to stop fighting :) I don't have facts, but the DC person told me that the non-union guys can't seem to get anything loaded or running.

KatDiesel, you probably know all the details :) Your input would be greatly appreciated.

More then likely its the "Loading Ramp" guys that are in dispute. The engineers and trainmen have always been Union whether its the BLE or the UTU.

The UP dispatchers are non union. Did DC say who it was in dispute? Lemmie do some research on the subject.

And I don't remember for sure but I think we pick up the cars at Val Jct in St Louis, which means a short line or another railroad may be in dispute if they "hand it off to us" at that spot. I wanna say we interchange with the IC (Illinois Central) there but I can't remember for sure. If I hear anything I will let ya know. The territory's I actually "run" are mostly all in Colorado and some into Utah.

Thanks for the info. They didn't say exactly who was bickering, just that my truck showed as 'shipped', but with no rail car number.

I'm supposed to call back next week :)
